Khalodoom Xool, by Abbot Rho
The late Abbot Rho of Veilshard Monastery, was researching Khaldoom Zool. The uncompleted research was discovered by a group of adventurers in the Winding Way.
Khaldoom Zool was once a prominent figure in Lomar. Zool’s noble linage and outstanding personal qualities ensured his meteoric rise in the clergy. However, his outspoken views on aggressive expansionism and his direct criticism of the Imperator ensured his fall from grace. A Devout follower of Nergal, Zool claims to have travelled the underworld and discovered Nergal’s oracle amongst a powerful underworld nation who call themselves the Sons of Nergal.
I travelled to the very depths of the Underworld, where no other from the surface had strode. The Sons of Nergal guided me to the most sacred and holy of places. Deep in their dark domain, runs the River of the Dead and in its waters stands Lord Nergal. His likeness carved from a great obsidian rock has been swathed in chains by the Sons, so that he will remain here with them, such is their love for him. In those waters I was reborn, when the oracle herself laid the chains upon me for the trial of suffering.
